Baby's head got stuck in an empty pot:
HISTORY OF NATURAL DISASTERS:
Natural disasters are the test of human endurance. They can occur at any time may be without warning. Earthquakes, floods, lightening, famine and disease epidemics have always been threatening human survival since ages.
HUMANS’ RESPONSE TO NATURAL DISASTERS:
Humans have adopted different methods to tackle with these situations. In past, these disasters have ruined the civilizations from the face of earth. But with the advancements in science and technology, many ways have been tailored to avoid such disasters. Weather forecasts, satellite monitoring and information technology have helped us in minimizing the casualties related to these disasters.
FUTURE ASPECTS OF DISASTERS, WILL THEY BE CONTROLLED?
This does not mean that disasters will not occur in future. There have been epidemics of dengue and ebola virus in recent years, there has been famine in Africa in 2001, there has been Tsunami in recent past and there has been earthquake in Pakistan in 2005. These disasters claimed deaths of hundreds of thousands of people making others homeless. Countless children lost their fathers. This has caused massive economical as well as social burden on the governments.
Will there be a solution to these problems in future? The answer is not so easy. Predictions can be made about the improvements in management of these disasters but total eradication is difficult dream to digest.
WHAT IS THIS VIDEO ABOUT?
This video is just an example of human efforts during such disasters. The video is about a poor boy getting his head stuck in a small empty pot while searching for food. The child belongs to a flood affected area of south Punjab. He is a two years old poor guy who is hungry and searching for food around his home while his mother is busy doing domestic work. He does not know what to do when he puts his head in a small pot and then he starts crying. His mother also starts crying and calls for help. Fortunately enough rescue team reaches at the spot and they have to cut the pot in pieces in order to release the head. This area is Khushab which is located in the Sargodha division of Punjab. This area was hit by recent flood in 2014 when thousands of people were rendered homeless. Many casualties were reported. People also lost their money, luggage, cattle and jewelry. Flood control measures should be carried out before hand so as to minimize the aftermath. Many countries have devised ways and means to overcome excess of water during rainy seasons. They have built dams for storage of large amount of water. This water can be used for watering the fields in future. It can also be utilized in production of electricity. Dams also help to release excessive water in a more calculated manner so that it may not escape out of rivers in the form of flood. But all these measures demand time, technology and money.
Watch this video to know the miserable condition of this poor guy.
