How To Prevent Dengue Fever
Here I will explain briefly all the five steps that you must know to prevent dengue fever, a mosquito transmitted disease which can be life threatening.
Dengue is a viral infection which occurs due to bite of a mosquito called aedes aegypti.
This mosquito has a characteristic feature of white and black stripes on its body.
The infected mosquito when bites a healthy person, it transmits the virus into the blood running in the small blood vessels of skin and then the virus multiplies in the human body and causes a disease which is called dengue fever

There are four different types of dengue virus and if a person is infected by one type, he or she will not get fully immunized to all the four types and is vulnerable to get infected by another type later in life.
Now coming to the five main steps for prevention against this life threatening infection, you need to do the following precautionary measures.
1-TO PREVENT DENGUE AVOID UNCOVERED WATER STORAGE:
A main feature of aedes aegypti mosquito is that it resides in fresh water as compared to the anopheles mosquito of malaria which resides in dirty pool water. So in order to prevent dengue you should cover your water reservoirs, tanks, buckets, tubs etc. Excessive water should be disposed off and should not be allowed to stand for long time.

2- TO PREVENT DENGUE AVOID MOSQUITO BITE EARLY IN THE MORNING:
This mosquito will start its day early in the morning by giving you a little bite at your skin. So in order to prevent its bite you should do preventive measures like mosquito repellent lotions and sprays,
3- TO PREVENT DENGUE USE SLEEVED CLOTHES:
Sleeveless clothes will give free invitation to mosquito so try to wear clothes with full sleeves which will prevent the bite.
4. TO PREVENT DENGUE USE GAUZE SCREENS:
Gauze screens are available which can be used while sleeping so that mosquito may not get access to your body. Some of these screens are soaked with repellent material which will further ensure the prevention of bite. Children are specially prone to bite as they do not have the idea how to tackle the mosquitoes. So they should be protected from bite by putting them under the cover.
5-WHAT TO DO IF YOU IDENTIFY A DENGUE MOSQUITO IN YOUR TOILET:
If you suddenly see a mosquito in your bathroom tub having black and white stripes on its body, then don’t get shocked. Just stay away and look at your tub. Is it containing stagnant water? If yes, then congratulations, you have got the solution. Just spill away the water and get out of worry, you wont see it again. There have been reported incidences where larva of Aedies Aegypti were found in offices of some medical personnel. This is extremely ridiculous as they should be the first ones to be able to prevent the disease but they are actually helping the spread. This issue was raised in the media which lead to strict measures in the future.
